4)HOMEWORK:
a.    For homework, students choose one of the following roles, and write a simulated letter to a friend or member of parliament, explaining that person’s view of the conscription crisis.  You might also encourage children to develop their own characters.  Students are expected to understand the issues surrounding conscription as they related to different sections of the Canadian population.
                                      i.      Roles: A war widow, a soldier serving in France, a Quebecois factory owner,  a farmer from Saskatchewan, a Quaker school teacher, the parent of a solider who has died in the war, a young man about to reach enlistment age.
