4)Compare and Contrast Activity
Aboriginals and African-Canadians:

  1. During the 1920’s many Aboriginals and African-Canadians were facing very racist polices and sentiments.
  2. Read Pages 69-71 about the issues faced by Aboriginals, African Canadians and other immigrant groups.
  3. Students compare and contrast the challenges faced by minority groups using the Leaflet as an example.
  4. Create a Chart to show comparisons and contrasts.
  5. Use examples from the leaflet and the textbook to indicate why Aboriginals and African Canadians faced racism in Canada during the 1920’s and  how was Racism displayed to these groups?
5)HOMEWORK: Read pages 60-72 in Counterpoints Text.
Paragraph Activity:

1. Students complete question 4a and 4b individually on Pg. 56 of Counterpoints

2. Compare and Contrast activity if not completed in class.
